Socialtik Mag – A New Movement

0 Comments 12 February 2010

Below you will read the story of a young college graduate that has taken his dream to the next level. Growing up in Queens, NY and attending Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA; Ronn Richardson has proved that it only takes a thought to realize a dream!

I have heard many quotes that have inspired me to reach the goals I have set for my life. The most impactful was said by

Alfred Adler. “Trust only movement. Life happens at the level of events, not of words. Trust movement.”

This quote empowered me to go beyond the ideas and thoughts I had harbored for so long and encouraged me to begin utilizing the talent that I allowed to lie dormant.

I have a list a mile long of the prospective business, non-profit organizations and institutions which I want to see come to fruition one day, but I’ve learned that every journey is initiated with the stride of the first step.

The Socialtik Mag web site was my first step. I worked on developing the concept behind the site for almost a year and a half. I struggled with many things that hindered the site from being born sooner. I doubted myself, my talent and my creative ability. At one point, I depended on the approval of outside sources in order to validate the ideas I had conceptualized. I’m glad to say that is no longer the case.

In short, the Socialtik Mag web site seeks to bring a positive perspective to the online community. I know many young adults who would not be able to function without reading celebrity gossip or news on a daily basis. I don’t think being a faithful reader is a bad thing, but when this type of content is the only form of reading you do – it becomes an issue.

I know plenty of job seekers and individuals trying to enroll in college who would much rather read the latest headlines involving their favorite celebrity than search for jobs or academic programs. I don’t think I have to explain why this is a problem.

Enough of my venting, the abovementioned caused me to forge the Socialtik team in order to infiltrate the present “online content” and produce a web site that encourages progressive social interactions, social awareness and professional development. In addition, we want to create a platform that introduces and highlights many of the young and ambitious entrepreneurs that are emerging everyday.

Don’t get me wrong, you will see an entertainment section on our site, but it will have a more positive tone. Socialtik’s team of writers posses a vehement passion to expose the positives within our society and eliminate negative stereotypes that are prevalent in our society.

Within a month’s time, I have seen our site grow from 3 dedicated writers to a team of 12. We anticipate the team to continually increase over the next few months. We are not going to be confined to the web site; we are working on becoming more prevalent in the community as well.

While all of our writers have multiple obligations, we will continually work hard and we hope the site will grow larger than we can imagine over the next few months in order to create a wide-spread movement of progression and a mentality of action.

Continue to stay tuned, the founder of SocialTik Magazine will be back to do a video interview this spring to update us on the progress of Socialtik and the impact that this site has had on our social community.

Remember to Never Under Estimate your Authoirty! If Mr. Richardson can start an involuntary movement to invoke change, you can too. Whether it’s a website, after school program or a musical concert the power lies in your willingness to explore your authority.
